After having some pretty yummy food and delicious hard ciders at Beer Kitchen, my friend and I went for a walk around Westport in Kansas City, Missouri. A lot is going on in KC this week. Kansas City is hosting the MLB All Star Game, so everywhere you go you see "Welcome Fanatics" signs like the one below. They are all glued to the crosswalks on the streets.
I guess it's a big deal for Kansas City, since the NFL didn't want KC to host the Superbowl.
Anyway, we walked around the Westport area and kept making some pit stops for more drinks, went empty cigar box shopping, window shopping at World Market, and our final stop was at Broadway Cafe. We had a delicious cup of coffee and my friend had a vegan pumpkin bread (we fed most of it to the birds).

On to my walk with La Naturaleza - after parting with my friend, I got a little lost in the Quality Hill area on my way home (I always take the wrong turn) - and saw this statue below.
I don't know much about the Lewis and Clark Expedition - I tend to doubt those stories with the word "expedition" after names like Lewis and Clark. I noticed the indigenous woman and took note of her name and will do some research later. I wonder what those guys did to her. (See, there I go). Right behind this statue was an amazing view of Kansas City Kansas and Kansas City Missouri.

This picture doesn't do much justice - if you were there in person you could see Kansas City Kansas to the right with their mini-airport, then highways and small "tall" Kansas City buildings. It smelled of earthy scents and wind. In Puerto Rico, my family says is smells like "Sol" - like the sun. I don't know what the sun smells like, but I guess in Puerto Rico they do. So it smelled like sun, earthy scents and wind. You can imagine it right?
I was alone in this little spot for a while until people starting getting off work and wanting to inhale the warm earthy scents and wind - or "Sol". It was an amazing experience today. I really enjoyed it!
I thought my day ended there - nope. I went to Loose Park for a nice short walk with another friend. It also smelled like smooth swampy earthy scents and cool evening wind. I forgot my phone so I have to wait for her to send me the pictures. We ended the night cruising down Broadway street shooting pictures of all the blue lights and baseballs throughout the skyline. It was a wonderful day with La Naturaleza today.
